Our journey began with a clear compass: the ISO 14001 environmental certificate, which we proudly achieved in 2023. This certification isn’t just a label. It guides us to actively manage our environmental impact, prevent pollution, meet regulatory standards, and continually improve our operations. For our customers and partners, it’s a sign that Teampac takes sustainability seriously, every single day.
Powering Production with Renewable Energy
Energy is at the heart of our operations. In 2021, we replaced oil heating with 25 geothermal wells, a move that transformed the way we warm our premises. Then, in 2023, we added 312 solar panels to our roof. Today, around 20% of our annual electricity comes from the sun, powering our production while reducing our carbon footprint. Each panel tells a story of our commitment to carbon-neutral production. Starting in 2024, all purchased electricity is carbon-free, complementing our renewable energy initiatives.
Efficiency at Every Step
We believe that efficiency and sustainability go hand in hand. Every day, we monitor materials, water, and energy to make sure nothing goes to waste. Our quality assurance system acts like a vigilant guardian – production halts immediately if a defect is spotted, preventing wasted resources and ensuring that every product is made responsibly.
Creating Sustainable Products
Sustainability isn’t only about energy, it’s about the products themselves. For example, our wet wipes can be made from sustainable options such as viscose, lyocell, or recycled PET fibers, and our packaging can include recycle-ready laminates, paper, or cardboard tubes. We avoid microplastics and carefully select ingredients that are responsibly sourced. By calculating the carbon footprint of our product concepts, we guide customers toward environmentally conscious choices without compromising quality.
Collaborating with Like-Minded Suppliers
Our sustainability story extends beyond our walls. We partner with suppliers across Finland and Europe, reducing transport emissions and encouraging innovation. Supplier scorecards track environmental performance, and we challenge our partners to offer more recyclable, recycled, and bio-based materials.
