Sauna, a window to the Finnish frame of mind.

If you had to explain Finland through a single experience, the sauna would be a good place to start.

For Finns, the sauna is much more than a warm room. It is a space where something essential about the Finnish way of living, being together and looking at the world becomes visible.

You step inside and leave the noise of everyday life behind. Your phone stays out of sight, conversations unfold naturally, and silence is perfectly acceptable. In Finnish culture, silence does not always need to be filled with words.

A sauna does not need to be luxurious or impressive. It needs to work. A good sauna is warm, clean and functional. In much the same way, Finnish thinking tends to value things that are built to last and stand the test of time, without unnecessary complexity.

And then there is one of the most important aspects of Finnish culture: trust.

In the sauna, you do not need to impress others, explain yourself or even speak at all. Simply being present is enough. The same principle can be seen in the way we work together. We keep our promises, speak directly and build trust through our actions rather than words.

Sauna is a microcosm of the way we Finns think and interact as a society. It brings together calmness and community, practicality and wellbeing. It creates a moment when there is no need to perform.

We’re not saying sauna is the reason Finland is the happiest country in the world.

But it probably doesn’t hurt

A quiet moment, relaxing löyly, a swim in a lake – and absolutely no need to check your phone.

Teampac welcomes you to experience the Finnish sauna culture by watching our “School of Sauna” video.

Relax, enjoy the löyly, and make the experience your own.

Welcome to sauna!
